News
Right. Listen up boys and girls.
I have some exciting news.
The October reunion organisers met up for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Well, the first time in about 20 years to be precise. Anyway. It appears that our planned gathering in October is set to be as popular as the last one. Obviously, this is great news, but it does mean we need to plan things a little more carefully.
The venue comfortably holds 120 guests. Any more than that could get a wee bit uncomfortable, so we need to know in advance, just how many of you are coming. Although this is being organised for the Class of 72, we will be welcoming those from one year either side and of course, any school staff from the period, so numbers could reach capacity quite quickly. It would honestly be heartbreaking if we had to turn someone away ‘cos they simply turned up on the night so please, book early.
We have been asked to provide a more substantial buffet than originally planned, ideally with some hot food and provision for vegetarians or those with food allergies. This is being organised as we speak/write/read, whatever.
Although we had planned this to be a free night, demand, the cost of the venue, catering, badges and so on means we will need to make a small charge of £10 per person, payable with your booking. The good news though, is that being a club, the drinks are significantly cheaper than you’d find in a typical Edinburgh or Leith pub, the buffet is included and of course the clientele will be amazing! We will have exclusive use of the bar.
Doors will open 7pm through till 1am with the buffet somewhere in the middle. You can sit wherever you choose but we reckon you’ll spend most of your time circulating among old friends.
